Trucking capacity or “supply” is the hardest side of the market to measure accurately. Tender rejections, while one way to measure the tightness or looseness of capacity, indicate “relative” capacity, or capacity’s relation to demand, not absolute capacity.We believe that truck drivers leave large carriers and become owner-operators when carrier sentiment is bullish and capacity is entering the market.
