for a much better 2020 in regards to intermodal. After de-marketing intermodal lanes they’re expected to boost intermodal volumes. They have made it clear that they plan on narrowing the gap in rates between intermodal and trucking. Rates have stayed steady with only two lanes changing since last week: Chicago-Los Angeles (+2.2%) and Chicago-Linden (7.4%). U.S. Class I rails saw intermodal volumes decrease Y/Y in week one but performed better than the 4-week average.
