tshining where they were a year ago but only due to weak comps of the Thanksgiving holiday. Railroads continue to refuse to change their prices to be more competitive with trucking spot rates. Intermodal carriers and trucking carriers both have similar customers that ship primarily consumer goods that would be used for retail shopping. These similar shipper profiles have led to very loose intermodal capacity since intermodal takes roughly 1 to 2 days longer to ship something than via truck.
